“Yeah, yeah, sure, sure.”

The Binney-Smith company, the company that makes Crayola crayons, should create a new crayon shade, one in honour of Paul Newman.

Newman Blue–for those amazing eyes of his.

Sales of all "Special Limited Edition" boxes of 96 containing Newman Blue should go to the Newman’s Own Foundation, the foundation Paul and A. E. Hotchner started as a bit of a joke.

You know the company, they make salad dressing, salsa, popcorn, spaghetti sauce and more. Paul and his buddy A. E. Hotchner (author of one of my favourite books of all time: King of the Hill) got the company rolling in the basement of Paul’s house–before it turned into a highly-respected, multi-million-dollar-a-year food company that donates ALL profits and royalties to thousands of charities around the world. In 2008 donations amounted to something like $250 million.

So really, is it too much to ask for a commemorative Newman Blue crayon?

Cheers to you Paul.
