Since I write about fear and the scary, scary thing called love in all my novels, I figured I could make a connection to the scary, scary thing called Halloween. I issued this same challenge to all my Halloweenie guests — relate their posts to Halloween and their writing, in any way they could, however direct, however thin. Amy Andrews shows me her Halloween booty…
Well, I guess I’m one of those Aussie’s who grew up without any kind of Halloween shenanigans and thinks – what’s the big, hairy deal? I mean I liked the idea of a Celtic harvest festival. Being a bit of an old Pagan at heart, I can kind of dig that. But ghosts and ghouls and things that go bump in the night aren’t exactly up my alley. I like to laugh in books and movies and TV shows and, you know, LIFE – not be scared out of my wits!
But, I do like the idea of a bag of treats…
So does my heroine, Josie, in No More Mr. Nice Guy. You see what I did there? Sandra asked us to relate Halloween back to writing so – challenge completed!
Yep – Mack has an absolute bag of treats for Josie who’s had a fairly beige sex life up until she goes to live with him and her best friend Sal for two weeks. Handcuffs, blindfolds, ice cubes, vibrators, dirty talking, public fornication… and some other stuff I probably shouldn’t mention in polite company.
Mack has a lot of tricks up his sleeve!
So here’s to trick or treat in whatever forms it may take!
